Hello!
Welcome, and thank you for visiting my website. I created this site to share some of the images I’ve made over the past couple of decades. For me, photography has been an on-again, off-again hobby for more than 40 years. Over the past few years, the hobby has evolved into a passion and a means of meditation and reflection. What started as making pictures of family and friends and documenting vacations has grown to include portraits, events, street, and branding photography. Currently, my interest is in capturing the vibrant, raw beauty of city life. I live in Columbus, Ohio, and I want to share images of the events, people, places, structures, colors, light, and shadows that make this city such a great place to live.
Why?
I grew up in a small rural town at a time when personal computers and cable television were just being introduced. Cameras still used film, and the internet was not yet accessible. The best and most accessible way to be exposed to other ideas, people, and places was through print. I remember spending hours in the magazine section looking through GQ, Rolling Stone, Esquire, National Geographic, and numerous other travel, fashion, lifestyle, and music publications. The images in these publications opened my eyes and created more questions than answers. I was amazed how a single, still image could convey so much feeling and challenge so many assumptions. I didn’t know it at the time, but these images in these publications would change the course of my life. They sparked imagination and curiosity, they encouraged empathy, and they created a visual representation of what was possible.
